Black Sea, North East Turkey, 2007

We went back to the Black Sea in July 2007 and did some sightseeing to new places as well as spending time in Findikli with Aytun's dad Ismet.

Loads of shades of green...

A village was flooded as part of a hydo electric project, resulting in this odd scene.

At a trout farm restaurant.

Ayder waterfall, last year we couldn't see it for fog

The 'road' to somewhere, after about 6km of this we gave up - these people were going to get back in the minibuses and carry on. We turned our hire car around and left.

We had driven into the clouds

Our chalet was on the far left, a place called Zigana

The hydro-electric dam

Where we stayed for a couple of nights in Of

Uzungol. One of the most famous images in Turkey

Surmena monastery

Paintings in the monastery that had survived for years - you could see some grafiti scratched into them, which was in Turkish, but there was also Greek and Russian from many years ago
